Wind direction and mean wind speed

This map shows the wind speed, not including gusts, forecast by the model at a given time. In addition to the wind speed, it also shows the direction of the wind using an animation. It is important to note that this only takes into account winds that occur not due to thunderstorms. Winds may be locally much higher in thunderstorms and these winds will not show up on this map.
