Mean Sea Level Pressure

This map shows the model's forecast barometric pressure at a given time. Barometric pressure is a measure of how hard the atmosphere is pressing down on the surface of the Earth. Low barometric pressure is an indication that stormier weather is incoming while high barometric pressure generally favors calm weather. Average barometric pressure is 1013mb and pressure is “high” or “low” relative to that benchmark. Barometric pressure can also be used to forecast wind speeds. If the isobars (lines of equal pressure) on the map are very close together, expect strong winds. If the isobars are far apart, calm conditions are in the forecast.

Luftdruck auf Meereshöhe

Dieser Parameter zeigt den berechneten Luftdruck auf Meereshöhe. Der Normaldruck des Luftdrucks ist auf Meereshöhe und beträgt 1013 hPa (Hektopascal). Der Luftdruck nimmt rasch mit der Höhe ab um etwa 1 hPa je 8 Meter. Bei Hochdruckgebieten herrscht generell hoher Luftdruck bei Tiefdruckgebieten tiefer Luftdruck.
